Terms and Conditions for Chain of Deeds (COD)
Welcome to Chain of Deeds (COD), a crowdfunding platform and community fund dedicated to fostering social and economic development worldwide.   • Mission: COD is a global crowdfunding platform and community fund focused on driving impactful social and economic development projects through collective member contributions and donations.
  • Global Reach: While COD is a UK-registered organisation, it operates internationally to support projects and connect members globally.
  • Governing Law: COD adheres to the laws and regulations of the United Kingdom, regardless of where members are located.
 
2. Membership and Subscription
  • Membership Fee: To join and maintain your position in the Global Chain Network, a monthly subscription fee of £1, $1, or €1 (depending on your location) is required.
  • Purpose of the Fee: The membership fee is not a charitable donation but a small contribution towards:
    • Running the organisation.
    • Covering operational expenses.
    • Paying staff.
    • Supporting project development.
    • Ensuring the sustainability of COD’s activities.
  • Unique Chain Number: Upon registration, members receive a unique chain number that reflects their position in the network hierarchy.
  • Member Responsibilities:
    • Managing their profiles and personal details.
    • Paying subscription fees on time to maintain their chain position.
    • Upholding COD’s values and contributing positively to the platform.
 
3. Contributions and Donations
  • Community Fund Contributions: All contributions to the Community Fund and donations made through COD adhere to a 100% donation policy, ensuring that every penny goes directly towards the intended projects or causes.
  • Mustard Deeds Feature: A dedicated feature for Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity), designed to enable members to support impactful, lasting projects. Donations made via Mustard Deeds also adhere to the 100% donation policy.
 
4. Projects and Campaigns
  • Project Eligibility: COD will only fund and support projects that meet its internal criteria, align with its mission, and demonstrate potential for positive impact.
  • Campaign Adjustments: COD reserves the right to modify, delay, or cancel campaigns and milestones in response to unforeseen circumstances, operational requirements, or other valid reasons.
  • Transparency: COD commits to providing regular updates on funded projects, ensuring accountability and visibility for all members and donors.
 
5. User Eligibility
  • Open Membership: Users of any age are welcome to join COD.
  • Parental Consent: Members under the age of 18 must seek permission from a parent or legal guardian before registering on the platform.
  • Geographical Access: COD operates globally, but members must comply with any regional legal restrictions applicable in their country of residence.
 
6. User Conduct and Responsibilities
  • Prohibited Activities: Members must refrain from:
  • Engaging in fraudulent activities or misuse of the platform.
  • Posting inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content.
  • Violating COD’s mission, values, or terms of service.
  • Member Accountability: Members are responsible for ensuring their behaviour aligns with COD’s community standards and that their contributions are accurate and lawful.

  • Data Usage: COD collects and uses personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy. Members’ data will be used only for operational purposes and will not be shared with third parties without consent.

8. Membership Termination
  • Non-Compliance: COD reserves the right to delete, suspend, or cancel memberships for:
  • Failure to comply with the terms and conditions.
  • Non-payment of membership fees.
  • Engagement in fraudulent or prohibited activities.
  • Notice of Termination: COD will make reasonable efforts to notify members before taking action, where appropriate.
 
9. Liability and Disclaimers
  • No Guarantees: COD does not guarantee the success or outcomes of individual projects or campaigns. Contributions are made at the member’s own risk.
  • Force Majeure: COD is not liable for delays or failures resulting from events beyond its control, such as natural disasters, technical failures, or regulatory changes.
  • Platform Usage Risks: Members agree to use the platform at their own discretion and acknowledge that COD is not responsible for any losses or damages incurred.
 
10. Amendments to Terms
  • Right to Modify: COD reserves the right to update or amend these terms and conditions at any time. Members will be notified of significant changes, and continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
 
11. Miscellaneous
  • Entire Agreement: These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between COD and its members, superseding all prior agreements.
  • Severability: If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
